To sustain and further grow our success, we are looking for a Derivatives Controller.
The dairy derivatives markets are developing rapidly. Interfood has setup a global derivatives team which has recently been expanded by a data analytics group. Together they scout for the best hedging opportunities to mitigate price risk, analyze market information and guide the position holders on taking positions. Their expertise enables Interfood to add value to our clients to limited their direct price exposure in the dairy commodity market.
The sharp increase in demand for our services and the ability to hedge price risk with the help of the futures market requires Interfood to invest in a mid-office role to support the local derivatives team. A Derivatives Controller will have a leading role in maintaining the integrity of the derivatives position and the accompany position limits. This role ensures that the underlying administrative processes are in place as well as updating and improving the daily reports on VAR, M2M etc.
The frequent interaction with the traders and the brokers will put your commutative skills to the test. Derivative transactions need to be reconcile daily and errors has to be resolved. Regular reporting on risk, exposure and contract positions will enable you to be on top of many aspects of derivatives risk management.
Monitor and improve the deal capturing processes of the derivatives traders
Daily reconcile broker statements with JDE (our ERP system)
Create and maintain accurate reporting of the derivatives transactions
Prepare M2M overviews and invoices to our OTC clients
Monitor changes in compliance or regulation of dairy derivative exchanges
Support the derivative traders in the day to day operations
Align with the global derivatives team on limits/reporting etc.
Execute back testing of hedging strategies
Support the opening of new accounts/clearing and/or sub accounts
Work with the business process owner / key user to improve the reporting capabilities of BI/JDE
Maintain a close collaboration with the finance (back-office) team
Update data models with support of the data analytics team
Bachelor, Master or University degree in Business Economics, Accounting & Control or Business Administration
3 to 5 years experience in a similar job and familiar with Commodity Risk Management
Speaks / writes fluently English and preferably other languages in addition
Accurate, analytical and result-driven
Good communication and social skills
