Market Intelligence Data Analyst

Your role

We are seeking a commercially minded Market Intelligence Data Analyst to strengthen our Market Intelligence and strategic planning capabilities within the Trade – Commercial department.

In this role, you will act as a bridge between data, markets, and trading decisions, transforming complex market information into actionable insights. Your work will support spot and futures market monitoring, international trade flow dynamics, and price formation, across dairy and non-dairy commodities.

You will work closely with traders, commercial managers, and controllers to develop and maintain a robust market intelligence framework, identify trends and seasonality, assess market risks and opportunities, and support both short-term trading decisions and mid to long-term commercial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain time-series forecasts for dairy prices, production, trade volumes, basis, and spreads.
  • Work with the Global Data Team to integrate market intelligence models and outputs into Databricks.
  • Document methodologies, data sources, and model logic to ensure reproducibility and continuity.
  • Monitor and interpret key benchmarks and signals, including GDT Events/Pulse, CME spot and futures, EEX indices, and USDA reports.
  • Analyze import/export flows using customs platforms and intelligence providers such as Vesper, HighGround Dairy, StoneX, and UDM.
  • Prepare market intelligence outputs—daily/weekly notes, price outlooks, and scenarios—for traders, Key Account Managers, and leadership.
  • Turn models and forecasts into clear, actionable market views for position management and commercial decisions.
  • Contribute timely, well-grounded market views in regular trading meetings.
  • Support Key Account Managers with market context and pricing intelligence for customer and commercial decisions.

 

Your profile

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics or Finance.
Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
Knowledge of statistics for time-series analysis and forecasting.
Experience building automations and models with Python. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools for dashboard development and familiarity with VS Code and/or Databricks are preferred.
Commercial mindset: ability to translate data into clear business implications and actionable insights.
Collaborative working style with the confidence to engage directly with traders, position holders, and senior stakeholders.
Strong organizational discipline with consistency in delivering time-sensitive daily/weekly/monthly outputs.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, trading-oriented environment. · Understanding of international markets and financial derivatives (futures, options, swaps) and familiarity with dairy market fundamentals are preferred.
Familiarity with AI tools (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to support research, analysis, workflow automation and coding.
