Business Controller

Your role

Interfood is looking for a Business Controller to join the finance team in Singapore. It’s a key function of Group Finance with a responsibility to manage credits, markets and liquidity risk of our business. As a member of the team you are responsible for driving collaborative projects with traders and supply chain on data analytics, position management and process improvements. You will contribute to ensuring that Interfood APAC’s financial metrics, including cash conversion, liquidity and profitability ratios are on target.

As our new Business Controller you:

  • report to the Head of Business Control.
  • process large amounts of data, creating concrete and concise business cases for management action.
  • ensure adequate management reporting relating to but not limited to P&L, B/S, Cashflow, Margins, Liquidity, ROI, and Mark to Market.
  • collaborate with trade and logistics to design and maintain processes to improve trade efficiency and ensure compliance to group-wide controls.
  • partner with traders on credit adequacy, ROI, and margin analysis.
  • are heavily involved in the improvement of reporting of Daily P&L, and business KPIs across all functions, leveraging BI tools such as Tableau and Think cell.
  • initiate and lead change with senior management on critical projects impacting financial performance.
  • liaise with Business Control counterparts in other offices (Europe & Americas) on global projects to improve company-wide processes.
  • support ad-hoc analyses when required.

Your profile

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or ACCA/Chartered Accountant with 6+ years of progressive work experience; commodities preferred.

Assertive, committed, independent, problem-solving ability to work with deadlines.

Team player who embraces change and is continuous improvement driven, with strong attention to detail.

Strong attention to detail.

Excellent numerical proficiency proficient with Excel; experience and knowledge of Tableau, and Power BI, programming languages such as Python and VBA a plus.

Strong communicator with an excellent command of English, a second language a plus.

Eager and curious learner with the right attitude to investing in one’s development.

Proven ability to translate financial knowledge to the business and partnering with management to drive decision making.
