Permeate
Chinese import demand for pig feed is limited

Europe
Permeate market feels weaker but prices can’t drop much further
The EU permeate market has a weaker feel to it as demand remains sluggish. Chinese pork prices remain under pressure. At the current price of EUR 700-750 for Western EU permeate and EUR 675 for Eastern EU permeate, both ex works, there can not be much further downward potential as long as lactose prices remain so much higher.
Americas
Little to report on the US market
It is largely US and Latin American feed permeate that flows to China for the piglet industry, and it changes hands at around USD 680/t CIF China. The US food permeate market price is about USD 0.27-0.28/lb (some 600/t) ex works, but the number of local trades is limited, making it difficult to make a meaningful statement about the US permeate market.
