Junior Financial Controller

Your role

Are you at the start of your finance career and looking for a role with real responsibility and a steep learning curve? At Interfood, you will join a young, ambitious, and collaborative Finance team where you will quickly develop strong financial control skills and take ownership of your work.

As a Junior Financial Controller, you will play a key role in the financial control cycle, contributing to month-end closing, reporting, and analysis. You are part of the financial control team and act as a business partner for internal stakeholders, while gaining exposure to topics such as FX and audit processes.

This role allows you to develop broad financial control skills while becoming a valuable and trusted member of the Finance team.

As our new Junior Financial Controller you:

  • Run the month-end and year-end closing process

  • Prepare and post journal entries

  • Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

  • Support the preparation of monthly management reports

  • Analyse operational expenses and financial performance

  • Assist in budget preparation and follow-up

  • Contribute to internal and external reporting

  • Support in monitoring foreign currency exposure

  • Assist with FX reporting and documentation

  • Contribute to hedge accounting documentation and effectiveness testing

  • Support and challenge cost centre owners on financial performance

  • Collaborate with colleagues across international hubs

  • Collaborate with the Financial Control team on external audits

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements

  • Actively identify and drive automation opportunities and process improvements

  • Handle ad hoc requests from management and other departments

Your profile

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
0–3 years of relevant experience. We also welcome high-potential graduates who are eager to learn and grow.
Strong analytical skills and affinity with numbers.
Comfortable working with Excel.
Eager, proactive, detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, and not afraid to ask questions or challenge the status quo.
Good communications and language skills (English is a must, Dutch is a plus).
