Data Engineer - Netherlands

At Interfood, data is a key driver for our business. As a Data Engineer, you'll help shape the data products and solutions behind our global trading organization. Working with modern Azure technologies, you'll build reliable data solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across trading, finance, supply chain and other business functions.

You'll become part of our Global Data & Analytics team: an ambitious and collaborative team where innovation, ownership and continuous improvement are part of everyday work. In this role, you'll collaborate with colleagues across the business, tackle complex data challenges and contribute to solutions that create real value for our international organization, all while continuing to grow your technical expertise.

As a Data Engineer you: 

  • Design, build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Data Factory and Function Apps.
  • Deliver reliable data solutions that support business domains such as trading, finance, supply chain and risk management. 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into practical, future-proof data solutions.
  • Ensure high standards for data governance frameworks, including access controls, data lineage and regulatory compliance.
  • Continuously improve our data platform by identifying optimization opportunities, exploring new technologies and balancing innovation with a pragmatic mindset.
  • Develop solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.
  • Take ownership of your work while building strong relationships with colleagues across our international organization.

Your profile

2–4 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
Enjoy working with colleagues from different backgrounds and like collaborating face-to-face just as much as through a screen.
Experience with cost/performance optimization of data solutions.
Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform), design and support streaming data solutions using Pyspark Streaming or Kafka, DBT, or the commodity trading industry is considered a plus.
A strong knowledge of Python, SQL, Apache Spark/Hadoop, DevOps and Scrum methodologies
Hands-on experience with Databricks and cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Experience in applying CI:CD principles for efficient deployment pipelines.
Are eligible to work in the Netherlands and comfortable working in English in an international environment.
