Internship Sustainability Reporting Specialist - Global

Interfood is looking for an intern to support the Group Control Team in ensuring the quality of sustainability reporting. The team is based next to the Central Station in Eindhoven, and has a unique position on the verge of non-financial and financial reporting. If you are passionate about sustainability and looking for a challenging role in an enabling environment, this will be the internship for you.

As Sustainability Reporting Specialist Intern you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting sustainability data and KPIs. You will be asked to contribute to the continuous improvement of our sustainability performance control environment, both in terms of input and output. This entails monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the financial and operational aspects of sustainability initiatives, ensuring efficient resource allocation, cost-effectiveness, and measurable performance outcomes in alignment with sustainability goals. By contributing to both sides of the Sustainability Reporting Specialist function you will play an important role in realizing our sustainability targets and driving positive change.

During your internship, you can expect to undertake a variety of tasks and responsibilities. Some of the key areas where you will contribute include:

  • Sustainability Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Performance Metrics and KPIs: Develop and implement sustainability performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress towards sustainability goals. Monitor and analyze trends, identify areas for improvement, and recommend strategies to enhance sustainability performance.
  • Cost and Performance Control: Monitor, analyze, and optimize the financial and operational aspects of sustainability initiatives, ensuring efficient resource allocation, cost-effectiveness, and measurable performance outcomes in alignment with our sustainability goals.
  • Reporting Frameworks and Standards: Stay up to date with the latest sustainability reporting frameworks and standards such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and other relevant standards and legislation to ensure comprehensive and transparent reporting.
  • Integrated Report: Contribute together with other stakeholders and external parties to our annual Integrated Report by ensuring the report complies with relevant sustainability reporting requirements and highlights the performance on our sustainability related KPI’s.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sustainability, finance, operations, and communications, to gather data, align reporting processes, and ensure transparency and consistency in sustainability reporting.

Your profile

Bachelor or Master student in a business economics field.
Good language and communication skills in English, both verbally and written.
Effective time management, setting priorities and being able to work with deadlines.
Analytical ability and a well-developed understanding of numbers.
Affinity with automation systems and Microsoft Office.
Enterprising, looking for opportunities and proactively coming up with ideas and solutions.
Accurate and attentive to details.
Flexible and able to act fast.
